The project aims to make natural spaces more accessible, inclusive, and educational by combining inclusive trail design, digital innovation, and capacity-building for staff and volunteers.
Its core objective is to enhance accessibility in outdoor environments through the development of inclusive trails that respond to the needs of people with different abilities. These trails are designed with features such as paved paths, clear orientation elements, and Braille signage, ensuring safe and meaningful access to nature for everyone.
At the same time, the project introduces digital tools and applications that provide comprehensive information about the trails, supporting digital literacy, engagement, and informed decision-making among visitors. Digital solutions are also used to collect and analyse data, enabling continuous improvement of trail quality and user experience.
A strong focus is placed on training educators, guides, staff, and volunteers, equipping them with the skills needed to support visitors with special needs and to deliver high-quality, inclusive outdoor experiences. This contributes to building a culture of inclusivity, awareness, and respect for diversity.
Through environmental education and community involvement, the project promotes environmental stewardship, encouraging responsible interaction with natural habitats and long-term conservation. Partnerships with local organisations strengthen community engagement and ownership, ensuring the sustainability of accessible outdoor spaces beyond the project’s lifetime.
By aligning inclusion, digital education, environmental sustainability, and innovative technologies, the project contributes to quality adult education, technological advancement, and more inclusive community engagement with nature across Europe.
